National Days of ServiceNational days of service promote service and volunteerism in communities across the country. Click on the logos to find out how you can participate! In some cases, there may be opportunities for grant funding available for your project. Martin Luther King Day of Service Initiated by Congress in 1994, King Day of Service builds on that that legacy by transforming the federal holiday honoring Dr. King into a national day of community service grounded in his teachings of nonviolence and social justice. The aim is to make the holiday a day ON, where people of all ages and backgrounds come together to improve lives, bridge social barriers, and move our nation closer to the “Beloved Community” that Dr. King envisioned.
Make a Difference Day Make A Difference Day is an annual event that takes place on the fourth Saturday of every October.
Global Youth Service Day GYSD is held during a weekend every April in over 100 countries in every region of the world.
AmeriCorps Week AmeriCorps Week provides an opportunity for AmeriCorps members, alums, grantees, program partners, and friends to shine a spotlight on the work done by members in communities across the country -- and to motivate more AmeriCorps to join AmeriCorps or volunteer in their communities.
