Training Opportunities

For over 40 years, CNVS has served as the premier resource for both long-established volunteer programs and newly established programs as well. In addition to our National Conference, CNVS hosts training workshops on the management and operation of a faith-based volunteer program.

Formation Workshops

The Formation program is for those new to the world of faith-based volunteering. Whether you are considering starting a new program or a new staff member to an existing program, the Formation Workshop is an opportunity for you to become immersed in the logistics of a faith-based volunteer program. Long-time program directors take participants through the process of starting a program and all the components of operating a successful program from orientation through the completion of the volunteer’s service year.

Renewal Workshops

Renewal workshops provide member program staff with additional opportunities to come together and learn more about a topic of interest to faith-based volunteer programs. Past workshops have including recruiting, screening, and interviewing; orientation and retreat models, placement site issues, community life issues, budgeting, financial management, and fundraising; working with your Board of Directors; diversity issues; re-entry issues; and issues facing international programs.
